Siddhartha Daryani: I am an alumni of Oriental Institute of Science and Technology and completed my graduation last year. Since the beginning of the four-year course in Automobile engineering, I had a keen interest in areas like operational research and entrepreneurship; and always wanted to pursue a career in finance.
Aspiring Minds: When and why did you decide to appear for the AMCAT?
Siddhartha Daryani: It was during the final year when we started preparing for the campus placements – the hiring patterns weren’t positive as most of the companies visiting the campus were either I.T companies or firms which offered low pay-packages. While my fellow college mates were getting placed in the I.T firms, I didn’t see myself anywhere close to them. It was then that I and few of my friends decided to appear for the AMCAT. Soon after we appeared for the test, we’d started receiving calls based on our AMCAT scores. This year, every final year student at our college has taken the test!
Aspiring Minds: How was the interview experience at Ways2Capital?
Siddhartha Daryani: I’ve had the experience of attending a few interviews prior to Ways2Capital; the interview here wasn’t much different from those. A strong hold on the basics is what is expected out of a student, so one must focus on building concepts.
Aspiring Minds: Any message for the fellow AMCAT takers/students reading this interview?
Siddhartha Daryani: I didn’t make a compromise with my dreams. I’d always wanted to pursue a career in finance, and here I am as a Business Analyst at Ways2Capital. This isn’t a happy ending, I think the journey has just begun! And to my friends out there – even if you aren’t lucky enough to get a campus placement, don’t panic; AMCAT is always there!
