Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran is a leading Institution in North India, known for providing quality education and top-notch placements. CGC started its journey in the year 2001, under the aegis of Sri Guru Ram Dass Educational Society (Regd.). Since then, CGC has achieved phenomenal growth, presently offering 34 different professional courses in diverse fields. The group has dynamically evolved and now has three state-of-the-art Campuses – CGC Landran, Jhanjeri and Chandigarh University located in Mohali (Punjab), with a robust strength of more than 25,000 enrolled students.

Recognizing the gap between industry and academia, CGC has taken certain concrete steps to bridge this gap. The group has a corporate advisory board which is having very senior members from the top corporations across India. They have formed industry collaborations with Microsoft, IBM, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Oracle, Mahindra & Mahindra and Holiday Homes etc. Moreover, they have also created various labs which are having particular industry-specific infrastructure and this makes their students acquainted with certain industry requirements.
Chandigarh Group of Colleges believes in experiential learning for its students and provides various opportunities for the students to be involved in long internships and live projects. They have a laboratory facility at the e-governance centre wherein computer science students work on live Government tasks and projects to enhance their professional skills and expertise.
The vision for CGC is to become the most preferred educational group with global recognition. And, in the next 5 years, CGC is determined to be in the top 10 institutions of the country. The engineering college of the group is having NBA (National Board of Accreditation) for 5 years and has received a World Bank grant under the TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme).
For improving the employability of students, the College has taken lots of initiatives. They have designed a 360-degree comprehensive training program known as TPP (Training and Placement Programme) which works on aptitude skills, soft skills, technical skills and complete personality of the students. They have a tie-up with Aspiring Minds, now an SHL Company, and continuously monitor the development of students through a series of AMCATs.
The College runs a stockbroking house for marketing and finance students. For hotel management and hospitality students, they have a canteen, Subway and fine-dining restaurant within the campus to give students a practical idea about how the theoretical aspects are implemented. They also run a travel house for students of tourism to give them practical experience about the real life environment.
In the coming placement season, they aspire for more international placements for their students and want premier companies to visit the campus with higher salary packages. Every year, more than three hundred companies visit Chandigarh Group of Colleges to recruit students.

Q: What is distinctive about the education system in your college and what is your educational philosophy?
A: Chandigarh Group of Colleges has a strong legacy of 14 years and have laid emphasis always on building careers and transforming lives as depicted in our corporate motto. We recognized the industry-academia gap and the education system at our college is thoughtfully re-designed to be aligned with the industry demands. We provide several learning opportunities to our students to be involved in long internships and live projects. We believe that education is informative and we make it interesting for our students which help them to excel in selections and reaching new heights. Our educational philosophy lies in providing well-qualified faculty and state of the art infrastructure for the all-round growth and development of students. Focus is on ensuring their subject competence and crafting a personality that can meet ever-increasing expectations of industry and society.
