Aspiring Minds: Congratulations Snigdha on securing your first job through AMCAT. Tell us something about yourself.
Snigdha: Thanks. I’m a Software Engineer and did B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering from B.P.I.T. Object oriented Programming, Database Management and Software testing have been some of my favourite subjects during the four years of study. Unlike most of the students, big brands or multinational firms don’t matter to me. What matters to me the most is the job profile – I’d always wanted to be a software developer.
Aspiring Minds: How did you get to know about AMCAT? How would you sum up the experience of getting shortlisted by Josh Technology Group?
Snigdha: I got to know about AMCAT through my peer group and seniors at the college. I was sure of the fact that if a company shortlists me through my AMCAT scores, I would obviously be one step closer to them. I took the test during the final year and one day Aspiring Minds team informed me that I’ve been shortlisted by Josh Technology Group for the position of Software Developer. There were 3 written technical rounds conducted by the company. The written rounds tested our coding skills and each round was an elimination round. It was after the third round that the results were finally declared and I got to know that I’ve been offered the position of Software Developer.
Aspiring Minds: Would you like to share some tips with the future AMCAT takers?
Snigdha: AMCAT scores bring you one step closer to a number of companies, had it been an off-campus placement drive where thousands of students turn up, it would have been a tough job to prove my abilities. Moreover, I would say that one should focus on his/her strong subject areas. Students have a perception that learning as many programming languages as possible would get them a software profile. But that is untrue. I think they should concentrate more upon building their concepts. At last I shall take this opportunity to thank Aspiring Minds. I’d always wanted a job in Delhi/NCR and here I am – working at a profile I’d always dreamt of! Thanks Aspiring Minds!
