Aspiring Minds: Congratulations on securing your first job through AMCAT. Tell us something about yourself.
Arpit: I did my B.Tech in Electronics & Communication 2012 from Raj Kumar Goel Institute Of Technology, Ghaziabad. Being an Electronics & Communication engineer, I was always keen to work in a core Electronics company.
Aspiring Minds: How have been the placements at your college so far. As a fresher what problems did you come across while trying to find a job?
Arpit: The placements at our campus haven’t been satisfactory. Most of the companies that visited our campus were the IT companies. Core companies, unlike IT companies generally have few openings. Students generally miss out on such opportunities as these positions are often occupied through employee referrals. Moreover such core companies do not recruit students from Tier-2/Tier-3 colleges.
Aspiring Minds: Why did you choose to give AMCAT? How has AMCAT helped you?
Arpit: I wasn’t aware of the AMCAT until it was conducted at my college campus. Like others, I too appeared for the test. It was after that I appeared for the test, I came to know that Aspiring Minds has tie ups with the core companies as well. I ensured that my profile is up-to date on www.myamcat.com & one fine day I received an e-mail from Aspiring Minds that I have been shortlisted by Quantum Page Pvt. Ltd.
Aspiring Minds: Can you please share your interview experience with us. What was your reaction when you got to know that you finally got the job?
Arpit: We had to appear for a written round first. It was after the selection in the written round that I had to appear for the HR interview. The HR interview went well, further to the HR interview was the technical round. I was well prepared for the technical round and therefore answered each question to the best of my knowledge. I knew that my interview went well & hold strong chances of getting selected at Quantum Page Pvt. Ltd. Finally when I was informed that I had been selected as a Technical Editor at Quantum Page Pvt. Ltd. I was extremely happy. I had finally got my first job!
Aspiring Minds: What message would you like to give to the future AMCAT takers?
Arpit: I would always recommend AMCAT to fellow juniors at my college and all my friends out there who aim to get placed at their dream company. AMCAT could prove out to be the catalyst to your journey to success
