Job Description:

-As a specialist supplier of database systems, our client works with membership and contact based organisations around the UK. Offering a range of services from software development, to remote and onsite support, their reputation is unrivalled in the industry. An opportunity has now arisen for a PHP Developer to join their team.

-This is the ideal role for a talented developer with great Object-Oriented programming skills in PHP5, working within an MVC framework (Symfony preferred), looking to further their career with a leading company.

-Reporting to the Software Development Manager, as the PHP Developer, you will be responsible for developing application software for customers.

-You will be tasked with writing specifications, liaising with customers, installing software and training and support. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in projects from design right through to implementation and final acceptance.

-The company currently develops in an environment consisting of MySQL and MS SQL Server Databases, Oracle Databases (primarily 10g or 11g), a variety of Windows Clients, Thin Client (Citrix), Microsoft Office, Visual Basic, whilst some customers also operate Unix/Linux.

-To be considered for this position, you must have significant experience in PHP5, MySQL (or MS SQL) and jQuery.

-Additionally, you will need to show a willingness to keep pace with changes in technology, a good attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. It will also be important to be able to meet deadlines and respond quickly to customers’ needs.

-Whilst not essential, experience of any of the following would be an advantage to your application: SVN, AJAX, JSON, CSS or scripting expertise, other MVC frameworks, Oracle RDMS, Oracle internet development tools, PL/SQL server pages, Web Services.

SKILL SET REQUIRED:
