G. B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development was established in August 1988, at Kosi-Katarmal, Almora, as an Autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. The Institute is identified as a focal agency, to advance scientific knowledge, to evolve integrated management strategies, demonstrate their efficacy for conservation of natural resources and to ensure environmentally sound development in the entire Indian Himalayan Region (IHR).

Eligibility : Any Graduate, MSc

Qualification: Post graduate Degree in Botany/Environmental Science / other allied subjects and NET qualified (NET-JRF)

For the first two years: Rs. 16,000/-per month +HRA. After two years: Rs. 18,000/-per month +HRA

Qualifications : Post graduate Degree in Botany/Environmental Science / other allied subjects and NET for Lectureship

For the first two years: Rs. 12,000/-per month +HRA. After two years: Rs. 14,000/-per month +11RA

Qualifications : Post graduate Degree in Botany/Environmental Science / other allied subjects and non-NET

For the first two years: Rs. 10,000/-per month +HRA. After two years: Rs. 12,000/-per month +HRA
