Background Information:

 Pearson India R&P manages a number of activities: Image research, Permission acquisition and clearance, asset management, litigation support, negotiation with the copyright holders, rights training and advisory function

Purpose:

Responsible for systematic Quality Audits of operations, and act as an Advisor to the Business and a Mentor to the team. Additionally, ensure that the rights management of all third party content (images, text, video, audio etc.) used in products developed by the business/team is in order, so as to enable the effective and timely compliance, clearance and sourcing of all third party assets are copyright compliant and sourced in a cost effective manner. Have the capacity of Risk Identification, Assessment, Mitigation and Prevention

Key Accountabilities & Deliverables:

Project Management, Training and Advisory RoleUnderstand the new product and portfolio requirements from the business, and help them choose the correct rights strategies, at the initial levels of planning. Research, assess and identify the items that need third party permission clearance and share the budget estimates and the timelines with the business.

Source permissions form the copyrights holders, negotiating with them per the budget and time factor. Ensure that all the third party licenses are agreed ahead of publication and that the licenses are archived. Ensure guidance basis the Risk Assessment, and mitigation. Ensure Quality Audits of the Projects handled by the team, guiding and supervising them. Asset Management and Reporting.
