Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), founded in 1948, has its roots in the patriotic fervor of Dr. R. M. Alagappa Chettiar, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Dr. Shanthi Swarup Bhatnagar. On January 14, 1953 CECRI became a physical reality when Dr. S. Radhakrishnan dedicated CECRI, the twelfth national laboratory under the CSIR, to the nation. CECRI today is a proud family of 427 employees, 137 of whom are scientists. It represents the largest research establishment for electrochemistry in South Asia, Headquartered at Karaikudi, CECRI has extension centers in Chennai, Mandapam and Tuticorin.

Selection procedure for Assistant (G) Grade III: Selection will be made on the basis of competitive written examination in General English/General Hindi & General Knowledge and skill test on computer (English/Hindi) and interview. Selection procedure for Junior Stenographer: Selection will be made on the basis of competitive proficiency test on shorthand and typewriting in English/Hindi.
Qualification: 10+2/XII or its equivalent and typing speed on computer @ 35/30 w.p.m in English/Hindi corresponding to 10500 KDPH / 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word.
10+2/XII or its equivalent and speed of 80 w.p.m in shorthand and 40/35 w.p.m in typewriting in English/Hindi.
