Mindspark is currently used by more than 80k students and 175 schools, it receives 1 million student responses every day. We have a massive data set that has answers to how students learn and how we can make learning more effective for students.

We are looking for an exceptional data scientist with machine learning experience who will work with analytics team to synthesize and leverage our massive data set of student learning data to enhance learning outcomes in classrooms. The team works in quick iterations, using the statistical and machine learning techniques and algorithms best suited for solving the problems of student learning

Job Description( Lead Data Scientist):

• Support the identification, design and implementation of continuous improvement levers through data analytics to improve the product
• Dig in to the large data sets and develop analytical solutions that provide actionable insights on student learning that will support the product development team
• Work cross-functionally and support adhoc analyses to give a more structured shape, examine recent and historical data, identify salient trends, develop statistical models, and surface key insights
• Synthesize diverse, complex information to develop a compelling story with data and insights

• Must have a master's degree in operations research, applied statistics, machine learning or a related quantitative discipline
• Must have a deep understanding of 2 or 3 machine learning modelling concepts such a Regression, Clustering, Bayesian Nets, Decision Trees, Recommender System etc.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in developing machine learning models
• Hands on experience with any statistical analysis environments such as R, Python, MATLAB, SPSS or SAS and comfortable with relational and non-relational databases

• Must have an engineering degree from Tier -1 institutes preferably with coursework in operation research, statistics, machine learning or programming
• 2 to 3 years of experience in analytics domain
• Familiarity with machine learning models
• Familiarity with significance testing, sampling, descriptive statistics, and multivariate statistics
• Hands on experience with any statistical analysis environments such as R, Python, MATLAB, SPSS or SAS and comfortable with relational and non-relational databases
• Proficient in Microsoft office
