-Understand the Requirements
-Identify the Major components.
-Identify a Reference Board for S/W team
-Follow the Reference Board Spec. without affecting performance
-This helps during bring up and S/W development
-Write a Block Diagram
-Collect Data Sheets of the required components
-Choose right components for the given requirement
-Select components with less lead time
-Order components which are having long lead time.
-Draw the Schematic
