Aspiring Minds Hosts Breakfast Round Table in the Financial & Pharma Capital of India

Aspiring Minds hosted a Breakfast Round Table around the theme "Talent Analytics for Effective Sales Recruitment" at The Leela, Mumbai on 17 January, 2013. The Round Table was held in collaboration with People Matters. The magnificent diversity of the Buffet Table was only exceeded by the diversity and intensity of the discussion around the Round Table.Participation was exclusively by invitation and included industry captains from the big names in the Finance, Pharmaceutical and FMCG space. These included ICICI Bank, HSBC Bank, HDFC AMC, Standard Chartered Bank, and Axis Bank in Finance; Abbott, Tata Chemicals, Ajanta Pharma, Roche Products, and Unichem Laboratories in Pharmaceuticals and the FMCG majors, Johnson & Johnson and Nivea.

The million – dollar questions discussed were : How does one balance the element of objectivity and subjectivity in the recruitment of entry level sales personnel? What is the role of talent evaluation and analytics in sales recruitment and how does it contribute to business growth? How do companies measure ROI on their talent acquisition models? The participants shared best practices and insights from their own companies, thus making the discussion very exciting for fellow participants. The Round Table discussion was ably moderated by Himanshu Aggarwal, Co-founder & CEO, Aspiring Minds and Ester Martinez, Founder and Managing Editor, People Matters Media.

The Round Table was concluded by a short presentation by Varun Aggarwal, Co-founder & Director, Aspiring Minds. The presentation talked about how smart talent analytics can be a high point for performance-hiring. This enthralling presentation also included case studies of a few companies which showcased the work Aspiring Minds has achieved with them and the returns reaped by those clients. The success of this Round Table keeps the positive momentum going for the upcoming IT Sector Round Table in Bangalore in a couple of weeks from now.

In our last poll we asked our readers how they would react if they are confronted with negative feedback at their work place. 13% feel that in such a case they would listen about the feedback without posing any counter-argument. 30% of the voters believe that they would take time to think through and then discuss in-person. 42% of the poll participants would rather discuss with their colleagues/seniors to find out where exactly they were wrong. 15% of the voters think that they would acknowledge their fault but hold their point since they have reasons to support their action.
