
Who can take the AMCAT?
AMCAT is currently offered for engineering and MBA students. AMCAT can be taken by pre-final, final year students and freshers (0-2 years experience). AMCAT will soon be available for Arts and Science graduates.

Are there any particular criteria which need to be fulfilled to give the test?
To give the AMCAT, you either need to be enrolled in a degree program or passed a degree program. There are no other criteria.

Does the score have an expiry date, like a SAT or a GRE/GMAT?
The AMCAT score is valid for 3 years from the day you take the test. You may take the test again after 3 years to have a valid score.

What are the qualifying or passing marks for AMCAT?
There are no qualifying marks for AMCAT. Every company uses its own criteria based on different AMCAT Module scores to select candidates. Aspiring Minds does not interfere in the selection criteria. Even if you do not perform well in some modules, there is a chance that you will be short listed.

Is AMCAT also useful for non-IT/CS engineering branch students?
Yes. Aspiring Minds has both IT and non-IT companies with it. The IT companies who accept AMCAT score also consider students from non-IT/CS branches for possible hiring. Even if these students do not perform well in Computer Programming, but show a high aptitude, there is a fair chance that may get selected.

How will a company contact me?
Whenever a company shortlists you, you will get an email through Aspiring Minds informing you about the same. So it is advised that you regularly check your email, otherwise you could miss an opportunity.
Companies visiting your campus may also use the AMCAT score to shortlist candidates and not conduct their own assessment test

If my English is not good, can AMCAT still help me?
Yes, even if your English is not good, but you show good aptitude and technical skills, you could be shortlisted.

When is the best time to take the test?
The best time to take the test is NOW! The earlier you give the test, you will have opportunities from companies who continuously shortlist through us. Also given the recession, many companies could stop hiring any time.
Preparing much longer shall not change your AMCAT score much since it assesses your inert ability. A brush up for a week on your technical skills and taking the test is the best option.

If your AMCAT score is not good, you can give the AMCAT again after a period of 3 months. Only your latest score is reflected to companies.
